Search Engines move on ?

With google having 'been there, done that' with everything that you can do with fundamental search - are the engines moving on to better and better way of producing search results? Here's clusty (thanks to Sameet Mehta, Pune for the link) which featured in the Time 50 coolest websites.

While you are at it, you might want to take a look at Grokker which shows results in a circular clustered fashion (i actually found a few links on myself that i didnt know existed).

Here's me on Grokker (requires java) and me on clusty.

Internet Explorer UI designer adopts firefox.

Scott Berkun posts on his blog on his recent adoption of firefox browser. His speciality is UI usability and he knows what he's talking about.

What is of interest to me in his post is his criticism of firefoxs UI. If you are interested in firefox vs. msie differences, make sure you read this post.

IIS 7.0 takes inspiration from Apache

It seems Microsoft has finally seeing light. It has decided to adopt ideas (or what corporates prefer to best practices) from Apache server. Ideas like modular architecture (dynamically loadable modules), XML configuration (apache config) instead of its metabase changes to which take effect without restart (which has got to be a first with microsoft!), etc. Whats more, they've even acknowledged Apache for the learnings.

Anyway, i am glad M$ is moving in the right direction. I am looking forward to dissecting IIS 7.
